1NCE wins Embeddy Award for “Best of Show” at MWC 2018

COLOGNE/BONN, 03/20/2018 – 1NCE, the first multinational IoT carrier with focus on narrowband and low bandwidth connections, has been selected as winner of the Embeddy Award “Best of Show” at Mobile World Congress 2018, where the company presented its unique data flat rate for the IoT.

“We are very proud to receive this award from VDC research, proving the merit of 1NCE’s vision to enable billions of devices to enter the Internet of Things and to create social and business values, security, and innovation,” said Alexander Bufalino, Chief Sales Officer of 1NCE.

The Embeddy award has been created by renowned market research company VDC Research to highlight companies announcing important advances in the IoT and embedded software, hardware, and services industries. Steve Hoffenberg, Director of IoT & Embedded Technology at VDC explains the choice with the “potential to bring connectivity to a much broader range of IoT devices than was previously economically feasible”.
Europe’s f irst data flat rate for the Internet of Things
1NCE, a strategic partner of Deutsche Telekom, has been active in the market since the beginning of the year. At the MWC 2018 in Barcelona, the company presented its new IoT connectivity model for the first time to a broad public. With Europe’s first IoT flat rate customers pay a lifetime fee of ten euros and receive a data flat rate of up to 500 megabytes for the service life of each device of ten years. In this way, costs can be better calculated because customers will no longer have to pay monthly, changing amounts depending on the volume of data consumed.

Successful brand launch
The innovative offer has been very well received by the market so far. Pre-orders for SIM cards in the high six-digit range already came in the first few days after launching the brand. “We are more than satisfied with the start of the brand. The high demand shows that customers are looking for solutions that will make it easier and less expensive, to deploy new IoT solutions,” emphasizes Bufalino. “The Embeddy award is another great endorsement”.

Customers can order SIM cards through the web shop as of August 2018. The connectivity solutions will initially be available within the European Union as well as in Switzerland and Norway.
