How can we help?
When selecting “Lock IMEI at first connection” the IMEI-Lock is already prepared within the system. With the first network connection this SIM will be locked to the IMEI of the device within the 1NCE network. The usage of this SIM with another device is therefore impossible, as long as the IMEI-Lock is active.
The so-called Brexit does not have any impact on 1NCE customers in terms of connectivity. There will be only a change with invoices. From the day Great Britain officially leaves the EU, 1NCE is obligated to create all invoices for British customers including a VAT of 19%.
1NCE will inform the customer prior to the 10-year contract ending. The customer has the option to order a Top-Up, according to the condition at that time, and the contract will then be extended according to these conditions. Additionally, a customer can reactivate his cards up to 12 months after the end of the contract according to the conditions at that time. After this transitional period without any action of the customer, the contract will finally be terminated.
If the goods are damaged, the customer is requested to take photographs to document the damage before immediately contacting the 1NCE Customer Services team.
Setting up a Data Stream requires the customer to select the Stream Type to specify if just Event or Usage data is desired, or both should be sent jointly.
The customer can select the transmission of historic data. If historic data is selected the 1NCE Platform will send all customers data up to seven days old, however it will take significantly longer until transmissions are caught up with live data.
An activated and configured stream will be enabled instantly, and the performance can be monitored. The current Remote Status is shown in the Customer Portal as HTTP status coded from the remote site. If a 200 (OK) is displayed, the Data Stream is operating normally if the receiving section is not reachable or the configuration is invalid, it will show a 500er error.
Customers can pause and resume the stream at any time by using the action buttons next to the stream details.
For setting up the Data Streams for a RestAPI or RestAPI in Bulk mode the specification of an API Callback is required. The 1NCE Data Stream acts as an HTTP Client and needs an HTTP Server to handle each Post. Every sent message includes an array of one or more objects.
Yes, 1NCE offers the option to create multiple user accounts on the 1NCE Customer Portal and to set different user roles and rights. Under the tab “User” on the 1NCE Customer Portal the initial owner of the account can create and edit new user accounts. The following roles are available on the Customer Portal:
-Owner: This is the initial user and cannot be changed . This role can use every function and administrate “Admins” and “Users”. The role of “Owner” can also be assigned to a newly added user.
– Admin: This role has all access (including API access) and can administrate the account as well as create and delete users.
– User: This role can see all details on the Customer Portal and administrate SIM Cards, but cannot initiate new orders or Top-Ups, therefore this role does not have any rights to purchase or recharge.
– API User: This role is designed for the usage of the 1NCE REST API available via the 1NCE-API webpage or from applications directly via HTTPs and defines the API client credentials for programmatic access. To use the API the individual OAuth2 client_id and client_credentials are required.
For creating a new user account, the following information is required: First and last name, e-mail address (is used as login) and desired role.
API Users have the account number as a prefix in front of specified client_credential.
After creating a new user an e-mail is sent to the new mail address requesting to set an initial new password for the 1NCE Customer Portal (API User is an exception as the client_secret needs to be specified while setting up new user).
Yes, currently the 1NCE SIM card supports the radio standards 2G, 3G, 4G, NB-IoT and LTE-M. On our Coverage Map you can identify which radio standards are available in which country.
The Connectivity Management Platform is an integral part of the customer portal. With the Dashboard customers can review all relevant information regarding their SIM cards. In addition the Connectivity Management Platform offers a detailed management down to a single SIM card as well as several functions regarding configuration of VPN, SMS or API.
1NCE is currently carrying out final testing with select partners and customers. Additional test phases before commercial launch in August 2018 are not currently planned.

Yes, thanks to our partner Deutsche Telekom, we have at least 2 partner networks per country in the available 1NCE footprint to ensure basic coverage.
The 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat is only aimed at companies. Purchase by private individuals (consumers) is not permitted.
As soon as the order has been completed and submitted by the customer, the automatic processes for fast processing of the order are set in motion. To compensate for the difference, it is advisable to trigger another order.
Yes, data transfer exclusively on 2G, 3G or 4G is possible.
Yes, individual 1NCE SIM cards can also be purchased for testing. This is possible since there is no minimum order quantity. However, no special plan is available for test customers.
The 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat is only aimed at companies, therefore students or developers looking to purchase the 1NCE SIM card as private individuals (consumers) are excluded from doing so.
Yes, when crossing a border between two countries covered by the 1NCE footprint, the 1NCE SIM card ensures seamless connectivity. However, this only applies to the connectivity standards 2G, 3G and 4G. NB-IoT does not support seamless cell handover when switching cells. In this case, the connection is lost and has to be re-established. You should also note that NB-IoT is not yet supported in all 1NCE footprint countries.
Customers with high security requirements can optionally use the IPSec protocol with the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat. However, IPSec is not included in the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat per default and has to be purchased separately.
1NCE offers an API that allows customers to integrate all relevant functions for managing, controlling and monitoring 1NCE SIM cards into an external system. Information on the API can be found at 1NCE API
Detailed documentation on this topic can also be found in the tutorial section of the Help Center on the 1NCE website.
1NCE is an IoT Native company and thus is not focussed at providing legacy text messages. Nevertheless the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat also offers the opportunity to send and receive text messaging in a limited fashion. Generally, the majority of user data is sent via the data channel, however text messages are relevant for wake-up messages from the IoT application (application-oriented SMS) to the endpoint (mobile terminated). Therefore sending and receiving text messages between SIM card devices and server is supported.
No, voice support is not included in the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat. Only data and text messages are supported.
Send a termination letter in writing with a signature to 1NCE in order to terminate your contract.
The customer should contact the 1NCE Customer Service team if a change needs to be made to an order.
For payments up to EUR 5,000.00, we recommend customers use a credit card. Payment is received immediately and the data volume is activated within 60 minutes. Due to security reasons, payments in excess of EUR 5,000.00 can only be made via bank transfer.
In the event that you need to log in to the 1NCE customer portal as a customer, but you do not know the e-mail address or password, 1NCE customer service can help. They can then verify the required documents.
1NCE offers a service called “Data Streams”. The Data Stream service allows to subscribe to real-time Event and Usage Data for all SIM Cards by pushing data directly to the customer server or an already integrated cloud service such as AWS Kinesis, DataDog or Keen.io. In total up to ten different Data Streams can be configured per account. More information can be found in the help center in documentation section.
Other text messages can be booked separately on the 1NCE Customer Portal as a top-up.
The operating system selected can be changed at the 1NCE Customer Portal.
In order to renew the login to the account, change your password or contact our Customer Service to provide the required documents to 1NCE for verification.
An order is automatically cancelled if payment is not received within 30 days.
In order to create a copy of the invoice, log in to the 1NCE Customer Portal , go to the tab "Orders" and can there download invoice.

Currently 1NCE supports the radio standard NB-IoT only via the networks of Telekom Germany and Austria. Both use the LTE-Band 8 for the NB-IoT communication. The NB-IoT module, here at the example of the Quectel BG96, must be configured to band 8 with the following AT command:
AT+QCFG="band",0,0,80,1
In addition, the network must also be assigned. At Telekom Deutschland (26201) this is the command:
AT+COPS=1,2, "26201″,9
In Austria, the network must be assigned to T-Mobile Austria/Magenta, 23203 or 23207.
The 1NCE APN is always iot.1nce.net regardless of the country.
Only one VPN token is available per account.
The OpenVPN client needs to be running on the customers PC to which the data of the SIM carrying device shall be transferred. A basic guide for installing the OpenVPN client can be found within the customer portal on the tab Configuration. The OpenVPN than establishes a connection to the 1NCE network and provides a secured data transfer between the device and the customers server.
Detailed documentation on this topic can also be found in the tutorial section of the Help Center on the 1NCE website.
The benchmark for measuring the available data volume of 500 MB is 1 kByte.
As a 1NCE customer, you can create new sub-organizations directly in the customer portal in the Tab "Organizations." This feature enables you to create independent organizations, e.g., for your subsidiary or sub-contractor. Creating a new organization requires the Role “Owner” or “Admin”. After creating a new organization, the new owner is being notified and asked to set up his password via email, so that he can access the customer portal. All known features are active in the new organization. An order of SIM cards can be placed in the new organization by using the "Reorder" Button and go through the regular ordering process. Alternatively, your new organization can order directly via the webshop. In this way it requires their login in the second step. As Master Organization you can see the total number of SIMs ordered by each organization, but don't have direct access without a dedicated account created by them.
The 1NCE Footprint currently covers over 100 countries worldwide. In all these countries the 1NCE SIM card can transmit on 2G, 3G and 4G. NB-IoT is currently only supported in selected countries in Europe and Asia, therefore NB-IoT is only available in the 1NCE Footprint in a few cases. Our coverage map shows the current availability worldwide.
The radio technology standard NB-IoT is currently not being fostered by all wireless providers in Europe, meaning NB-IoT is and will remain available in only some European countries. A current list of the countries and the respective mobile providers offering or expanding NB-IoT capabilities is provided by the GSMA . 1NCE currently has access to NB-IoT networks in Germany, Austria, the UK, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and China.
As a strategic partner of Deutsche Telekom AG, 1NCE refers to the list of its reliable and competent partner network: Deutsche Telekom's list of licensed devices is updated regularly.
The included data volume is measured and deducted with an accuracy of 1 kByte. Both overhead data resulting from the use of the respective protocols, such as UDP or TCP, and the actual payload are included in our calculations. All transport data between the device/modem and applications is deducted. This includes both uplink and downlink data packages.
Purchasing additional data is possible, and it’s very easy. Once the 500 MB included in the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat have been used up, you can simply purchase another 500 MB for 10 euros (net). The new volume is available as soos as the payment is registered at 1NCE. The activation period of 10 years remains the same. For each SIM card reaching 80% of the volume included in the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat (500 MB), the customer will automatically be notified of this, including the option to book an additional 500 MB.
SMS can be sent from the server to the end device and vice versa. An SMS cannot be sent from one device to another. However, there is the function of "SMS forwarding". To be able to use this, you need a separate server that picks up the SMS from the portal and forwards it. You can find more information in the Developer Hub .
All SIM cards can be managed and set to inactive on the 1NCE Customer Portal.
It is basically possible to change from VPN to IPSec. A request will then be forwarded by 1NCE Customer Service to the regional representative in the Sales Team.
There is no minimum order quantity for IoT SIM Card Business.
For logistical reasons, the IoT SIM Chip Industrial can only be ordered in batches of 100.
The invoice is provided as a PDF file and a programme is required to be able to read this format. ( https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader ) Alternatively log in to the 1NCE Customer Portal and go to “ Download invoice ”. "
First, check your spam folder. If you still have not received an email, contact Customer Services to verify the given email address.
1NCE provides a transparent data connection via 2G (GPRS), 3G (UMTS), 4G (LTE) and NB-IoT. The customer application generally uses TCP or UDP as the transport protocol.
Regardless of the wireless network (2G, 3G, 4G or NB-IoT), data is sent with a maximum band width of up to 1 Mbits/s.
Additional volume can be ordered via the 1NCE Customer Portal.
The customer can control and check the status and how many text messages have been used via the 1NCE Customer Portal. If the SMS volume is sufficient you should always check the configuration of the module to avoid errors.
The customer can control and check the status and how much volume has been used via the 1NCE Customer Portal. The location of a module can be decisive for the strength and reliability of a connection. Please note that when using certain access technologies, such as NB-IoT, the connection will terminate when changing radio cell.
Within the check-out 1NCE customers are asked for a VAT-ID, which usually comprises of a country code (e.g. GB or AT) and a 8 to 10 digit number. The order process can only be finished if
- the VAT-ID has been entered with a correct format or
- the customer has said he has not VAT-ID.
ad 1) After the VAT-ID has been entered with a correct format the number will be validated automatically via a database check. If the result of this check is positive, we will create an invoice without VAT-ID (reverse charge). If the check is negative, we include the VAT on the invoice. Of course, customers can hand in the correct VAT-ID afterwards, so that the reverse charge procedure is active for reorders. The VAT-ID can be handed in afterwards via our service ticket system or via telephone hotline which are both accessible in the customer portal.
ad 2) Business customers without VAT-ID always get an invoice with issued VAT.
The 1NCE SIM card allows you to transmit data on the LTE Cat-NB1 (NB-IoT), LTE CAT-M1 (LTE-M), 2G (GSM, GPRS), 3G (UMTS) and 4G (LTE) wireless networks. A maximum bandwidth of 1 Mbit/s applies on all wireless networks with the 1NCE SIM card.
Inform Customer Services immediately if you have lost a SIM card.
To reset the password again, use the “Forgot password” link once more. A link will be sent to the email address stored there. This link is only valid for a limited amount of time.
The customer can use the shipping number to check who has taken delivery.
An order will be delivered after a full Payment. The customer will be given a shipping number after the order has been paid and dispatched. If the customer has not received a shipping number he shall contact the 1NCE Customer Services team.
Use the “Forgot password” link to reset your password. This link can be found below the login input fields.
When setting up the VPN, the correct "credentials.txt"-file needs to be used. This data is available in the 1NCE customer portal on the "Configuration" tab in the "OpenVPN Configuration" area.
The 1NCE Customer Portal includes:
- the monitoring and control of ordered SIM cards,
- remote control of the SIM card status (active, inactive, deactivated),
- management of customer data such as delivery address, billing address or payment method,
- creating sub-organisations and user profiles with custom rights and purchasing additional SIM cards (and data volumes)
Detailed documentation on this topic can also be found in the tutorial section of the Help Center on the 1NCE website.
The 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat is a B2B offering only. In order to allow for the reverse charge payment 1NCE requires a valid VAT-ID in order to check if you are a registered business customer. Only if we have a valid VAT-ID we can create an invoice without VAT (reverse charge) for business customers in EU-27 countries (excl. Germany).
Therefore business customers can state within the check-out that they do not have a VAT-ID. For these business customers in EU-27 countries we will then need to add VAT on the invoice.
Note: German business customers will always have VAT included on the invoice.
If a SIM card has used the included volume of 500 MB before the activation period of 10 years is up, it remains activated for a maximum of 18 months from that point on. During this time, the customer has the option to purchase another data volume of 500 MB for another 10 EUR. If the customer does not book additional data within these 18 months, the SIM card is automatically deactivated by the system when the eighteenth month is up.
For SIM cards that do not transmit any data for several months, it can be assumed that either the SIM card is defective or the connected device is defective or destroyed. To release the reserved resources from the SIM card, SIM cards that have not transmitted any data for 18 months consecutively are automatically deactivated.
With the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat of 10 Euros net, customers receive an activated SIM card allowing them to both send and receive data on the NB-IoT, 2G, 3G or 4G networks during the activation period of max. 10 years. The data is sent straight to the customer’s system via an open VPN tunnel. Customers can choose how much data they send/use and when. The 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat includes a data volume of 500 MB, which can be used within 10 years. The IoT Flat Rate also includes the use of the 1NCE customer portal, which allows customers to manage SIM cards and purchase further data from 1NCE. On top of the 10 Euros for the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat there will be additional charges for VAT as well as shipping costs.
1NCE only offers one data plan – the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat . There are no other plans available.
When using OpenVPN, the IP Address needs to be inserted, which the OpenVPN client is delivering, when it is started.
For example: http://10.64.x.x:500/sms, port and path is coming from the local device.
Detailed documentation on this topic can also be found in the tutorial section of the Help Center on the 1NCE website.
Deutsche Telekom AG is technology partner and host network for 1NCE. By working closely with Deutsche Telekom we can guarantee high availability, transparency and security. 1NCE uses the access network structures of Deutsche Telekom and its roaming footprint. 1NCE is operating as an independent company, acting under its own name and own account towards our customers.
For data transmission in the 1NCE network and in the 1NCE roaming partner networks, the respective security mechanisms of the various mobile radio standards are applied. Data transmission via the Internet to the IoT application server can be secured by a VPN connection.
1NCE offers the openVPN client already included in the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat as standard, while an IPSec solution is offered at an extra charge.
As standard, the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat includes a SIM card with the form factors 2FF, 3FF and 4FF in the all-in-one format. Additionally the 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat can be used also with a so called SIM Chip MFF2 for an extra fee.
If you want to contact 1NCE, please use the contact form available on our website. Please describe your concern as accurately as possible by filling out the relevant question fields and providing us with your contact data. We will get in touch with you as quickly as possible. In case you are already a registered customer, you have access to our hotline and can create a direct service request yourself.
All details on the specifications of the 1NCE SIM cards are listed in the service description as well as on the 1NCE website .
The APN address (iot.1nce.net) can be found on the "Configuration" tab of the 1NCE Customer Portal in the "Network Settings" section.
The 1NCE SIM cards are sent as 4 in 1 chip cards, therefore a special selection is not necessary. The required format can simply be broken out of the pre-punched formats of the chip card. Parallel to the plastic chip card, 1NCE also offers the MFF2 eSIM format.
A 1NCE SIM card is always linked to a certain account. If there are multiple accounts, these should also be checked for the respective SIM card.
The 1NCE customer portal contains at least two e-mail addresses of the customer. This is, on the one hand, the e-mail address of the customer data used during registration and, on the other hand, the e-mail address of the user data stored for the 1NCE Customer Portal. To login to the Customer Portal, use the email address linked to your user data, not the email address of the customer data.
The data shown on the invoice correspond to the data stored on the Customer Portal. Therefore it is imperative that the customer verifies its customer data stored there and updates as necessary.
The reasons for blocking can be many and varied. Before we block a 1NCE SIM card, we send an email regarding the deactivation and the reason for the deactivation. This email provides all relevant information.
If neither an invoice nor a confirmation has been received, the customer can check whether the order has actually been accepted. If the order is visible in the customer account, verify the email address and correct as necessary. You can then download the invoice from the 1NCE Customer Portal .
Once the order is placed, a confirmation is sent to the e-mail address that was stated upon registration. The customer can verify its e-mail address and the spelling at any time on the 1NCE Customer Portal .
1NCE only offers a prepaid service. With the prepaid system, the customer has 14 days to transfer his invoice or to pay directly by credit card upon completion of the order.
Currently, 1NCE only offers SEPA credit transfers and Credit Card to pay for top-up.
NB-IoT is best suited for stationary devices since it does not support seamless cell handover, which means that the connection has to be re-established again when the devices attaches to a new cell network tower.
Yes, the 1NCE Footprint extends beyond Europe to more than 100 countries worldwide. The 1NCE SIM card can be used in all these countries for 2G, 3G and 4G applications. A list of the current country coverage and supported bearer can be found within the 1NCE service description and on the coverage map of the 1NCE website.
1NCE currently supports NB-IoT exclusively in Germany, Austria, the UK, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and China with more than 90% coverage each.
Based on 1NCE technology, only Telekom Deutschland offers further NB-IoT roaming for selected European countries with its Business Smart Connect rates .
The IMEI displayed in the Customer Portal is retrieved from the network during PDP context activation, the format is as follows:
IMEI + SV (software version), based on the standard specification 3GPP TS23.003.
Composition of IMEI:
- Type Allocation Code (TAC) - 8 digits
- Serial Number (SNR) - 6 digits
- Spare digit - 1 digit
Composition of IMEISV:
- TAC - 8 digits
- SNR - 6 digits
- Software Version Number (SVN) - 2 digits
If you want to compute the original IMEI from the IMEISV, you can apply the algorithm of Luhn. The Luhn Check Digit (CD) is computed on the 14 digits after the SVN digits are ignored:
Step 1: Double every second digit, starting from the first one on the most right.
Step 2: Add all digits that have been left out in step 1 and then add each individual digit that you got in step 1 (if you got a 12 in step 1, you need to add 1 and 2).
Step 3: If the sum obtained in step 2 ends in 0, then CD is set to 0. Otherwise, the CD is calculated by subtracting the sum from the closest higher value ending in 0 (if you got 18, then CD=20-18=2).
There are two payment methods offered in the order process:
The SEPA bank transfer, or SWIFT* bank transfer and credit card.
When choosing the SEPA/SWIFT* transfer, the customer receives an invoice by e-mail, to be paid within 14 days. When paying by credit card, the complete order value is booked directly from the credit card indicated, but not exceeding 10,000.00 Euro. As soon as the payment has been booked at 1NCE, the shipping of the ordered cards will be arranged.
The two payment methods offered are completely free of charge for the customer. Other payment options, such as SEPA mandate (direct debit), express bank transfer or instant payment are currently not yet offered.
* For customers from other EU countries
The 1NCE SIM cards have static IPv4 addresses.
These can be identified in the 1NCE Customer Portal under the view "My SIMs" in the column "IP address". The subnet or the subnets of the cards can be found on the tab “Configuration” in the "Network settings" under the heading "IP Address Space". From 250 SIM cards per customer account, several subnets can be assigned.
Ubirch uses Blockchain technology to secure data directly from the source of data creation, the IoT sensor. A private key located on the SIM card seals the IoT data. In the backend, these micro certificates are then stored in a so-called Merkle tree and anchored in public blockchains. This creates an unchangeable and irrefutable data set for each individual sensor. Since the protocol is bidirectional, an IoT sensor can also check incoming data packets for authenticity and integrity. This provides efficient protection against unauthorized commands or unknown sources, because IoT data can be verified whenever it is processed, and only verifiable packets are processed.
The new security package uses the proven SIGNiT solution from G+D Mobile Security, which creates the link between a proven SIM environment, a secure operating system and the block chain.
The IoT data security package Blockchain-on-a-SIM is a solution developed in cooperation with G&D, ubirch and 1NCE. The card manufacturer G+D Mobile Security prepares the SIM for the ubirch trust protocol during production. This modification in the manufacturing process makes it possible to seal the data directly at the source, in this case already on the SIM. A subsequent modification of the SIM is therefore not possible and the standard SIM card from 1NCE cannot be used for this. Please contact our Sales Team via the contact form on 1NCE.com to order the Blockchain-on-a-SIM solution.

Getting started is as simple as connecting your AWS Account via three simple clicks. Configuring a first basic Rule forwarding all Data to the AWS IoT Core and you are ready to send any kind of data. A true Plug & Play Service.
Our 1NCE IoT Connectivity Suite is built for seamless connectivity to public Cloud Services like Amazon Web Service. Therefore all you need to get started is an own AWS Account to which we can send all your Data and onboard your IoT Devices. We provide the service free-of-charge for all existing 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat customers so there is nothing else you need to get started.
Our platforms provide various Device Gateways and services. Out of the Box, we also provide a native Security enhancement for direct MQTT communication with the AWS IoT Core. Our Onboarding Service enables you to use the 1NCE IoT SIM as the identity provider and securely retrieve x.509 Certificates for your own AWS IoT Core. For all other Use Cases, we are supporting Gateways allowing you to communicate and send pure UDP Data Packets including an enhanced Binary Conversion Service to harmonized Binary Data into a formated JSON Message. On top of that, we provide CoAP and MQTT-SN (planned for Q3). Other protocols and Gateways are on the Roadmap (LWm2m, NIDD Support for all Protocols etc.).
The 1NCE IoT Connectivity Suite does not have any limits on devices. All cellular-connected IoT devices using our 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat are able to connect and use all features. As we are not able to provide fully tested setups for all modems and microcontrollers or IoT Device on the market we continuously update our Device Blueprints and offer detailed Reference Setups. Let us know if we can help to build a Blueprint for your device.
The 1NCE IoT Connectivity Suite is seamlessly integrated and part of our 1NCE Customer Portal. It allows you to manage your own devices, monitors their connectivity Status and data transmissions. It also allows you to overserve recently posted notifications and incidents, update and change your device types and other technical characteristics like the Binary Translation. The Dashboard of the 1NCE IoT Connectivity Suite will provide you to directly analyse IoT data in a debugging mode to see potential issues and failures. As part of our actively updated Roadmap, we also plan to support a debugging mode to directly analyze all your IoT data within the 1NCE IoT Connectivity Suite without any further IoT backend needed so that you can fully focus on quickly developing your IoT device before launching a more complex solution.
The 1NCE IoT Connectivity Suite is one of the newest integrated features as part of our 1NCE IoT Lifetime Flat. Our main goal at 1NCE is to continue working actively on innovating fast and offer all our customers a true Plug & Play IoT solution. Therefore we are very keen to get your feedback and how we can make our Solution even better and offer more integrations. Reach out to us and let us know what you are missing so that we can make our solution even better.
The 1NCE IoT Connectivity Suite has a high focus on security and its one of the core design fundamentals. As part of our development, we are running continuously security checks and penetration tests and have a dedicated Security specialist in the team. Technically we are benchmarking all our systems on the high-security standards used in our Core Network. Authentication of IoT Devices using our SIM Card is leveraging all Mobile Core Networks Identifiers like IMSI, MSISDN and IMEI in combination with the static IP Address to verify and validate all data packages separately.
In principle, you can use any system with a modem which supports AT+CSIM commands to send APDU commands to the SIM card. For getting started quickly, we recommend to set up a ubirch testkit .
The documentation of the SIM card application itself can be found here (SIGNiT Customer Manual v4.pdf) You can also take a look the code used by the ubirch testkit as an example. Setting up a ubirch testkit might also be a good choice for getting acquainted with the ubirch functionality before starting to develop your own code.
You can find the backend API documentation on https://developer.ubirch.com/api.html . You can also take a look the code used by the ubirch testkit as an example. Setting up a ubirch testkit might also be a good choice for getting acquainted with the ubirch functionality before starting to develop your own code.
If you have acquired and setup the ubirch testkit hardware yourself, please make sure that you have flashed the NB-IoT firmware to the modem. See the testkit readme for a link to suitable instructions. Also, make sure that the antenna is connected to the correct port (next to the RGB LED). You can also try to move the testkit to an area with better reception.
If you are interested in the ubirch test kit, please contact the sales team at ubirch directly.
Please make sure that you open a separate APDU channel to communicate with the applet on the SIM. Communication on the base channel (channel 0) may cause problems, because the modem hardware may already be communicating with the SIM on this channel. To open a separate channel please use the "MANAGE CHANNEL" APDU command and encode the channel assigned by the SIM in all subsequent commands in the CLA byte. (Details can be found in ISO 7816 Part 4 Sections 5.4.1 and 6.16.) Also remember to close the channel if you no longer use the SIM or want to perform a reset. If you are using an ubirch testkit, opening a channel is automatically done by the micropython library. Also note that for some hardware, resetting the main microcontroller does not automatically reset the modem hardware. This is because on some boards, the modem and microcontroller are implemented as quasi-separate systems. The reason for this is that such a configuration allows, for example, the modem to wake up a microcontroller that has been switched off to save power, depending on e.g. an SMS. However, this may also mean that your modem may need to perform a separate reset of its own in order to correctly reset it to its basic state before you start communication. Please refer to the documentation of your chosen board/modem to determine if and how you need to perform such a separate modem reset and, depending on the default configuration of your modem, AT status messages such as "+CEREG" may disturb your SIM communication if they occur while you are waiting for an AT+CSIM command response.
Modules that do not support a Multi-IMSI SIM, talking of not supporting the "SIM Application Toolkit" (STK), will use the 1NCE standard IMSI to provide connectivity on 1NCE's standard roaming profile .
There is no overlap in the coverage of the two IMSI, so that the module's "SIM Application Toolkit" can clearly distinguish which IMSI is used depending on the region/country, so there are no additional latency time in selecting the networks.
VPC to AWS in China will be available at the middle of 2021.
The sub-nets and IP-addresses for the 1NCE China+ IMSI will be delivered from the same pool as for the 1NCE standard IMSI.
Currently, the public-IP-breakout / Public-Internet-Breakout is the same for all IMSI. A local PGW in China is planned for the end of 2021.
There is no Chinese Network firewall issue, because the internet breakout is in Europe. All sensor data are transferred via our partner China Telecom Global directly to us.
Yes, out of China, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong you will get the same behaviour like for the 1NCE standard IMSI.
The point of switch to the China+ IMSI also depends on the device. The "SIM Application Toolkit" will switch automatically as soon as the device notice, that the country/region is changed.
Yes, the Multi IMSI China+ SIM works normally in the other regions. But in Mainland China, just China Telecom the 4G/NB-IOT network is available and in Hong Kong 2G/3G/4G at HKT CSL and in Macau 4G at China Telecom Macau network is available.
Multi-IMSI means there are at least two IMSIs on the same SIM card, which allows the customer to get coverage of ‘both worlds’, which means roaming is possible in all networks, which either do have an roaming agreement based on 1NCE standard IMSI or based on CTG IMSI. The China+ SIM itself only provides additionally NB-IoT and 4G coverage via the CTG network in Mainland China and 4G coverage in Macao.
The Customer Portal offers the option to create multiple user accounts which allows for different user roles and rights. Under the tab “User” the initial owner of the account can create and edit new user accounts.
The following roles for additional user accounts are available:
- Owner: This is the initial user and cannot be changed. This role can use every function and administrate “Admins” and “Users”. The role of “Owner” can also be assigned to a newly added user.
- Admin: This role has all access (including API access) and can administrate the account as well as create and delete users.
- User: This role can see all details on the Customer Portal and administrate SIM Cards, but cannot initiate new orders or Top Ups, therefore this role does not have any rights to purchase or recharge.
- API User: This role is designed for the usage of the 1NCE REST API available via the 1NCE-API webpage or from applications directly via HTTPs and defines the API client credentials for programmatic access. To use the API the individual OAuth2 client_id and client_credentials are required.

The 1NCE Sales Team will be happy to support you with your first order of the 1NCE Blockchain-on-a-SIM product and is also happy to advise you. Please use the contact form on 1NCE.com .

In terms of accounting, and thus also for tax purposes, a sub-organization and master organization are treated in the same way. Therefore, a valid VAT ID must also be provided for the sub-organization. The same VAT ID can be entered for the sub-organization as for the master organization if billing addresses are identical.
The phone number of the SIM card is identical to the MSISDN of your card, but cannot be used for voice calls. If, for example, a device has to be configured via SMS, you can send AT commands to the MSISDN. SMS can be sent directly from the customer portal or via an API. For more details on the topic, visit https://help.1nce.com/dev-hub/docs/examples-mt-sms .
In the 1NCE Customer Portal we offer a so-called "Auto-Top-Up" feature, which you can use to automatically top-up your cards. Just deposit a valid credit card in the customer portal to activate this feature. The volume of your SIM cards is automatically checked by the system every day at 06:00 and 18:00 CET. As soon as more than 80% of the volume is used, a top-up is automatically triggered. You can find more information at https://help.1nce.com/dev-hub/docs/portal-sims-sms#auto-top-up .
